Don't create a podcast for the sake of creating a podcast. Here are some of my podcasting golden rules. 

Every podcast needs to have a premise and POV. 

Every podcast needs to have one or more passionate hosts. 

Every podcast should be filmed. 

Every podcast needs to wait one year before calling it quits. 

Every podcast should have a content distribution plan. 

Every podcast should have a clear ideal audience profile. 

Every podcast should have an audience growth strategy. 

Every podcast needs a set of success metrics and needs goals. 

Every podcast should be integrated into the go-to-market of the business.
