How To Sell Better

The tip today is to examine how you sell. You don't have to be a salesperson to sell. Everyone is selling something.

The most world-class sellers are thinking about their audience and not about themselves. They’re not trying to come across a certain way. They're trying to help the potential customer understand why this investment is the best possible decision and how it will benefit them AND their company.

The tip today is to examine how you sell. You don't have to be a salesperson to sell. Everyone is selling something. An idea, an event, an offer, a call- to-action.

To put yourself in the best position to resonate, you need to first think about your audience. Don't ask yourself how that presentation went.

Ask your audience how did the presentation impacted them. Ask at the end of sales call, how useful was this call? Or how well did it meet your expectations. It will be cool one day to have AI help us make this determination a bit easier.

Solve for the buyer and solve for the audience.

You can apply this idea to your website copy, videos, social posts, pretty much anything. A great place to start though is during those live conversations and presentations. Nothing really beats a fast feedback loop.

This podcast episode with Shane Parish and John Eastman is about people and it's as people-first as you could get.
