There are three types of team members I'm hiring.
1) Full-time
2) Part-time
3) Always-on
Full-time team members are exactly what you think. People who work 40 hours a week.
These roles are both generalist and specialist roles.
For example, I have a fantastic demand gen expert on the team, Tan Tran. He knows a lot about all things demand gen. But he also is becoming a go-to-market generalist.
Meaning he understands and is hearing how his work is impacting the overall GTM engine and customer lifecycle experience. He can critically think about a decision he makes will impact a different part of the business or customer lifecycle.
Full-time folks have deep knowledge of the GTM strategy and customers.
Part-time team members are pretty much what you think. Folks usually working 10-20 hours per week
They could be contractors, freelancers, consultants, etc.
They have very deep subject matter and domain experience in one area. For example, Dayana Mayfield is helping us with a lot of content and copy work and she is an expert in that work.
She won't nearly go as deep on the GTM and customer pieces, but will partner with one or more full time team members to get the context and information she needs.
The part-time folks will still feel very much of the team. We'll do a monthly all team meeting with every part-time team member and they will be in Slack and get pretty much full access like a full-time team member.
And then there are the always-on team members. These aren't real people, rather co-pilots, assistants, and agents that are helping full-time and part-time folks do their job more effectively, and sometimes perform a job autonomously on their own.
